At Plymstock School, we understand that strong, effective communication between home and school is vital. To make sure your questions, concerns or updates reach the right person — and are responded to promptly — we’ve put together a helpful guide on who to contact and how we handle correspondence.

COMMUNICATING WITH PLYMSTOCK SCHOOL AND ESCALATION

Who should I contact?

Please send your message to just one email address or staff member to avoid confusion or delay. You’re welcome to CC others for awareness, but having a single main contact ensures clearer accountability and quicker responses.

Safeguarding concerns – safeguarding@plymstockschool.org.uk

Attendance issues – attendance@plymstockschool.org.uk

General pastoral or academic queries – Contact your child’s Head of Year or Tutor

SEND questions – Contact the SEND Team Lead for your child’s year group

When will I hear back?

We aim to reply to emails or phone messages within 48 working hours. Please understand that staff may be teaching, absent, or attending training, but every effort will be made to acknowledge and respond in a timely manner.

What if I don't get a reply?

If you don’t receive a response within two full working days, you can escalate your query to the relevant Assistant Headteacher or team leader listed in our escalation guide.

Still no response? You may then forward your email to our urgent contact:

urgentresponse@plymstockschool.org.uk

Unsure who to contact?

If you’re unsure who to reach out to, you can email:

kchapman@plymstockschool.org.uk – PA to the Headteacher.

Your message will be passed to the appropriate team.

Your feedback, questions and concerns are always welcome. By following these guidelines, we can ensure that your message gets to the right place and is handled as quickly and effectively as possible.
