The Final 2 (Countdown to GCSEs)

Year 11 Enter Final Stage of GCSE Preparation

Year 11 students have taken part in the final assembly of the school’s 'Countdown to Exams'” series, as they move into the final phase of their GCSE preparation.

The assembly focused on helping students feel calm and confident ahead of their exams, reminding them that it is normal to feel nervous and that this often reflects how much they care about their outcomes. Students were encouraged to focus on what they can control, including revision, effort, routines, and engagement in lessons.

Key information was also shared about exam arrangements. All GCSE exams take place at fixed national times, and the school has clear systems in place to ensure a calm and supportive environment throughout the exam period.

From Monday 11 May, additional support will be in place, including a calm start to the day with breakfast available and short pre-exam warm-up sessions to help students feel prepared and confident.

Students will remain in school full-time until Thursday 11 June, following a personalised timetable of Directed Study and Precision Revision. After this date, they will only be expected to attend school for their scheduled examinations.

We thank parents and carers for your ongoing support, including excellent attendance across Year 11 and the positive conditions created at home for revision.

We are incredibly proud of Year 11 and the maturity, resilience, and commitment they have shown, and will continue to support them closely over the coming weeks.
