Parents’ Evenings

Throughout the academic year, we hold Parents’ Evenings to provide families with the opportunity to meet teachers, discuss progress and agree next steps for learning. The dates for each year group are as follows:

  • Thursday 11 December 2025 (Year 11)
  • Thursday 8 January (Year 10)
  • Thursday 12 February (Sixth Form)
  • Thursday 12 March (Year 9)
  • Thursday 26 March (Year 8)
  • Thursday 23 April (Year 7)

Parents’ Evenings are a valuable part of the partnership between you and Plymstock School. They give parents and carers the opportunity to:

  • Receive clear feedback on progress, attainment and attitude to learning
  • Celebrate strengths and successes
  • Ask questions about curriculum content and assessment
  • Discuss strategies to support learning and revision at home
  • Raise any concerns at an early stage

Why are our Parents’ Evenings virtual?

Following careful consideration, we have continued with virtual appointments post-COVID as they improve accessibility for many families. Online meetings allow parents and carers with work commitments, childcare responsibilities, mobility challenges or travel difficulties to attend more easily.

Virtual appointments also help us ensure fairness and efficiency. Each appointment lasts five minutes, allowing teachers to provide clear, focused feedback while keeping the evening running smoothly. At previous face-to-face events, appointments occasionally overran, which meant some families were unfortunately not seen. The virtual format ensures every family receives their allocated time.

In addition, online meetings provide greater privacy, whereas conversations in classrooms could sometimes be overheard.

Booking Information

Appointments are made via our Parents Booking System and are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Once booking opens for a particular year group, we encourage families to log in promptly to secure their preferred times.

  2. You will receive a temporary ‘magic link’ sent to your email. Please note: the link will expire after 15 minutes. If it has expired, simply request a new link.
  3. Click the magic link to log in and access the booking system.
