Students receive homework in all of the subjects they study. On this website you will find the homework timetables for every year group, which is designed to spread homework across the week. The homework timetable shows subjects on the day students study them so students need to look for their classes. This timetable replaces the information in the student planner. Where subjects appear in capital letters all classes have homework on that day. Music, Drama, RS, ICT and Art will set homework as and when this is appropriate for the course and this will not be weekly. These subjects do not appear on the homework timetable.
Please check and sign the student planner each week. Students should write down all the subjects for which they could receive homework on the appropriate day according to the timetable. Teachers will set homework as appropriate for the course. If no homework is set students should record ‘None Set’ next to that subject. This will help us to monitor how much homework is being set.
To make good progress in their learning it is essential that students complete homework to the best of their ability. Please talk to your child about their homework and support them in organising their time to ensure homework is handed in on time. Encourage them to find a quiet place away from distractions to complete their homework. If students need support with homework, please encourage them to talk to their class teacher. If you have concerns about homework, you should refer these in the first instance to the subject teacher or Head of Department. If concerns are of a general nature, please contact the Tutor or the Head of House.
