In January 2011 Plymstock School saw the completion of the £500,000 refurbishment project of the old school gymnasium, transforming it into a state-of-the-art cafe, ‘The Galley’.
Now a modern and vibrant space which incorporates eco solar panels to support the power of heating, the building itself has been restyled with ground level dining and a new second storey mezzanine seating area along with a soft-seated area which creates a comfortable space to relax, enabling students to use the facilities during the designated break and lunch times.
Staff and students now benefit from the facilities that are available. Freshly made hot and cold snacks, including wraps, sandwiches, paninis, pasta bowls and main meals are served along with a vast range of drinks including freshly brewed tea and coffee, fruit juices, mineral water and blended ice drinks. Breakfast is also served from 7.45am daily.
From Friday 3rd May students will be able to top up with cash. The cash machine will be situated outside the lecture theatre. Payments can also still be made via the parent pay website.
