Plymstock School

Plymstock School is a co-educational 11-18 comprehensive school of over 1500 students. The school has seen a significant growth in Post 16 learner numbers over the last few years and there are currently 330 students in the Sixth Form. Our team of staff are dedicated to sustaining a school where excellent teaching enables students to develop their abilities to the full. The atmosphere here is characterised by outstanding behaviour for learning and energetic, innovative teaching.  A very well designed curriculum exerts a powerful influence on learning. Students follow a broad and balanced curriculum and nearly all students in KS4 take a GCSE in French or German and a Humanities subject.

On 1 April 2011 Plymstock School became an Academy as part of the coalition government’s outstanding schools initiative.  Plymstock School provides a wide choice of activities for the benefit of Plymstock School students and members of the wider community.  The school is set in spacious grounds and possesses extensive facilities, ranging from a Library Resources Centre and Computer Education Suites, to specialised Science, Technology, Music, Drama, Dance and Sports facilities.

Plymstock School is very much at the heart of the community.  In addition to enjoying academic success, Plymstock students also take part in an extensive programme of service to the community and are always encouraged to develop a full range of activities.
