Plymstock School as a Specialist Sports College aims to raise the standards of achievement and attainment throughout the school using sports as the tool. We aim to further enhance the opportunities on offer to our students thus engaging them in purposeful activity both in and out of lessons.

As a Sports College we value the impact of our students and take pride in recognising their achievements in all aspects of PE and Sport in a variety of ways (eg the school newspaper and presentation evenings).

We aim to develop and extend the range of accreditation opportunities for all our students from Years 7-13. By broadening the curriculum within PE, we hope to provide every child with the opportunity to experience an activity area in which they can achieve their potential.

In line with the Extended Schools agenda, Plymstock School will be signposting opportunities for students from 08.00 – 18.00 either on the school site or at nearby venues. These will be in addition to the extensive and wide ranging extra-curricular programme already in place.

Ofsted 2009: “The curriculum is greatly enhanced by the school’s specialist status and by a rich variety of extra-curricular activities, including after-school revision classes and opportunities to study additional subjects”.
